Oak Bluffs Rendezvous Dinner info
OK Guys, Time to shell out some money for the Oak Bluffs Rendezvous Aug 4-6. Here is the list of people I have on my list so far: Name Bill Beardslee-B31-2 Adults Brain Davin-B33-2 Adults 4 Child JP Miller- 3 Adults Doug LeBlanc-B33-2 Adults Bill Dunlop-B33-2 Adults 2 Child Mike Moran-B31-3 Adults Dug Stowe-B31-2 Adults Frank Price-B33-2 Adults Jack Wilson-B25-2 Adults Neil Franzoni-B31-2 Adults 3 Child Ron Cahoon-B25-2 Adults 1 Child Mike Olstein-B31-2 Adults Tom Ward-B38-4 Adults 1 Child Ed Millan-B31-2 Adults Mitch-B31-4 Adults Bob McCarthy-B31-2 Adults 2 Child Jeff Pagano-B31-2 Adults 3 Child Bob Stansell-B33-2 Adults Al Lupone-B33-2 Adults David Smith-B28-? Adults Scott Traenkle-B31-6 Adults 3 Child Link Cornell-B31-5 Adults Mike ?-B20-2 Adults In addition to the boats we have a few people so far that are coming without a boat: Andre and his guests and one Timmy. I am sure there are others out there, but we have a pretty good gathering of confirmed people. The final price for the cookout dinner is: $20 each for facility $35 for each Adult Dinner $5 for each Child Dinner (Under 12 years old sort of break off) So basically $55 for adult and $25 for kids. The Club is private, so all liquor is “bring your ownâ€ as well as soda etc. You pass a liquor store on the way around the harbor. I will supply ice and cups. Please send a check and a list of the number of adults and children for the dinner to me at: Scott Traenkle 82 Bullivant Farm Rd Marion, MA 02738 Phone (508) 748-2973 I will send you back a ticket for the dinner and the entry fee which you should bring with you to the dinner (I’ll have a list for those forgetful people, but I don’t want to spend the night tracking people down). Also, note that Neil has drummed up quite a few things to give away and we will use your entry tickets to determine who wins. This time the item to be given will be shown before the ticket is drawn. Please don’t wait till the last minute to send the money. I have to pay for the club at the end of the month ($2,000 + $350 for insurance). All extra money (if any) will go directly to Capt Pat, and if short, I’ll foot the bill.
Great job Scott, sounds like a night to look forward to ! We plan to be there Friday night (8/4) only, departing Saturday morning. So if this dinner is for Friday night, we're in. That would be: Rick Schaffer - B33 - 2 Adults, 2 Kids. Thanks, Rick Ticket 85 SF Falmouth, MA

The dinner is Saturday night. Who from here is going on the Friday morning Tuna fishing trip? If Scott doesn't get his ethanol-related problems solved by then I may be bumming a boat ride... Sean Burlingham "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL SBurlingham@cfl.rr.com

Hey Sean: I replaced both water separators, and inline filters, added two more filters, cleaned the black goop from the electric fuel pump. It runs now, we'll see what happens after this weekend. This ethanol stuff sucks. Paying $4/gal. just to destroy my engines. With that in mind, we were out on Tuesday fishing with 9 people, beer, gear, etc. and thought I would get some fun out of those old bone engines before they die. Had it up to 31.7 Knots! I like that speed! I figure maybe if I pass the gas through the engine fast enough, it wont stick to anything. what do you think? Is that sound logic or should I blow up the engines from running too hard before the enthanol gets it? Scott

Sean I was still planning to go fishing on friday , however I'm a little concerned that I may have a pretty full boat already. If I do have any room , you're welcome to come along. I wasn't aware Scott was having ethanol problems. Did I miss a post? What sort of problems is he having? An interesting side note on the ethanol, I've been hearing lots of local reports of people with water in their filters and some smaller boats breaking down, but nobody is calling it ethanol yet. Just unrelated incidences? Also, my 13 ft whaler has a one season new suzuki 40 on it and when I used it for the first time this season with a new tank of E-10 it ran really bad as soon as the new gas got into it but cleared up after a good Italian tune up. E-10? Not sure but you have to wonder. This will be an interesting season, that's for sure.

At 31.7 knots it should take you about 41 hours to run the boat down...
